Insects, Nature, Wildlife and Critters First Monarch Posted by Mary on July 24, 2012January 12, 2013 The Monarch butterflies are beginning to emerge. This is the first one I have seen this summer but I look forward to more butterflies stopping by in August. Great capture…I haven’t seen any Monarchs yet, but have seen quite a few black and yellow and yellow and black butterflies. Time to get out the field guide for ID purposes!
Thanks, we have a lot of the Tiger Swallowtail and Spice Bush and white Cabbage Moths. I am not very good at identifying butterflies but keep wanting to learn more.
We have Monarchs that migrate from Northern California to Mexico– so sometimes they stop here along the way… Beautiful photo again.
The photos I see of the Monarch migration are always so amazing. They have such striking colors.
